ABOUT THE PODCAST

Created on August 2022 by Rugaba John Paul ,  the Sangyin podcast is a platform that provides a voice for the African diaspora and beyond to share insightful and inspiring experiences and stories in order to inspire a new generation on the African continent and beyond.

The podcast seems to fill in the gap in sharing the narrative amongst the African diaspora especially in china , as before very few platforms were available for Africans to freely express themselves.

The name “sangyin “ basically  means voice in mandarin which is an indication of the country of origin of the podcast.

The podcast aired its first episode on  August 18th  2022, and over time has produced over 100 episodes with over 250 guests featured . The podcast has special episodes such as the country edition which has so far featured guests from Uganda, Tanzania , Zimbabwe , Zambia , Ghana , Cameroon, Guinea Conakry , Sierra Leone and Kenya  with  definitely more African countries on the way.

The podcast has introduced new merch (hoodies, T -shirts, caps ) for our ever expanding community under the theme “The Sangyin Podcast , Its More Than a Platform ,Its An Identity”.

The podcast has a vibrant community of over 1500 members on Wechat, X, Facebook  and Instagram and is available on all podcast platforms such as afripods, Spotify, apple podcasts , Youtube etc.

In season two, the podcast introduced the homeland edition which features the movers &shakers based on the African continent.

On 25th November , 2023 , the podcast was added to the larger Sangyin Media Group with comprises of events, journals and studios.
